Los Angeles Opera is looking for a Social Media Specialist to help execute a social media/online strategy that increases our product/brand awareness, generates conversation and inbound traffic, and is in line with broader communication strategies. This position evaluates, organizes, drafts and distributes messaging across all social media and online channels to promote/syndicate content to engage new and deepen engagement of existing audiences while ensuring messaging is consistent with and supports marketing and PR objectives.
Qualified candidates will have a degree (or equivalent) in public relations, marketing or related field and 2 years of marketing/PR experience. Candidates will be able to demonstrate skill in engaging the on-line community, strong capabilities with the electronic environment, excellent writing skills, and experience in functioning in an environment with multiple and tight deadlines. Knowledge of the entertainment/music industry is preferred. Ability to work evenings and weekends is essential.
