Description: After the 30-Years-War (1648), poets from all over Germany meet and try to influence the peace process. This turns out to be difficult, as artists are bad politicians. Based on the famous short story by Günter Grass, the action proceeds in many comic and tragic scenes. The opera can be seen as a modern sequel to Wagner's MEISTERSINGER.
