Description: The Man in the Black Suit, an opera by Eve Beglarian and Grethe Barrett Holby based on the award-winning story by Stephen King, addresses issues of faith, evil, and the world beyond us. This story about loss of innocence, takes place in rural Maine in the early twentieth century, as told by a man in his nineties recounting a pivotal childhood experience – an encounter with evil that changes his life, and the life of his family, forever. The opera mines fundamental questions he faces as he awaits the end of his life.
