Description: Antigone is one of the best-known tragedies of the classical Greek theatre. It is a study of the conflict between human (state) law and moral law, and the individual's dilemma in choosing between the two. It is an ancient play that, because of its timeless message, continues to be universally relevant. It is also a proto-feminist narrative about the heroic choice of a woman who stands alone in siding with divine law over the edicts and precepts of a male-dominated society.
