The National Opera Center
Rehearsal, Performance and Meeting Space

Making Informed Audition Choices
Developed by OPERA America’s Performer Development Forum as a guideline for singers of all levels, the Defining Your Career Level and Choosing a YAP chart provides an outline of what types of programs an artist should be applying for at certain career checkpoints. Focusing applications on programs that are appropriate to the artist’s level of experience will help manage expectations — an essential skill for the successful singer.
