Leadership role in the development and execution of all Social Engagement activities. Development and oversight of a balanced beginner vocal-choral music program (using El Sistema principles). Organization of class curriculum so that preparation, rehearsal, and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time. Service as lead teacher, demonstrating and teaching basic skills in music theory, voice and choral music to students plus oversight of teaching staff.

Job responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and develop various Social Engagement activities and events with Gulfshore Opera staff, including student attendance to dress rehearsals, master classes, and free community concerts with Emerging Artists and Harmony Choir.
2. Understand and promote the philosophy of Gulfshore Harmony Choir as an El Sistema inspired program.
3. Supervise hiring of secondary teachers
4. Organize and schedule teaching personnel and participants with meaningful systems and clear communication. 5. Schedule classes and performances with all Harmony Choir partners. 
6. Act as lead Harmony Choir teacher, serving several after-school enrichment programs per week.
7. Help recruit candidates for the Emerging Artists program
8. Collect time-sheets for part-time program support staff (e.g. Teaching Artists, Emerging Artists).
9. Create an overall season plan for the Harmony Choir with measurable goals and objectives; plan basic curriculum to cover vocal techniques, rhythm, music; select appropriate music, books and instructional materials to enhance learning and instructional supplies as necessary.
10. Collect statistics of the program at the beginning and end of the year for grant purposes utilizing surveys (i.e., Survey Monkey) and other tools.
11. Build relationships with partner program directors, teachers, and families.
12. Maintain personal contact with teachers and directors through email/phone/personal visits on a regular basis including scheduled staff meetings. 
13. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
14. To collaborate with General Director on strategy and timing.
15. To complete monthly report document activity, by the 30th of each month.

Basic Qualifications:
1. Skills in leadership, administration, organization, classroom management, and
communication.
2. Bachelor’s Degree with a major in music.
3. Training in classical voice and basic chorus conducting skills
4. Music education teaching experience preferred (but not required) for a minimum of three years in a classroom setting with youth.

Special Requirements:
1. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends
2. Computer and Technology Proficiency, specifically: Proficiency with email-based
communications, Microsoft Office Suite, and Excel
3. Knowledge of, and sensitivity to, issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion
4. Sitting and standing for extended periods of time
5. Must have reliable form of transportation and a valid driver license
