POSITION: Professor in the Practice or Associate Professor Adjunct of Voice & Director of Yale Opera

RESPONSIBILITIES: Voice: Teach graduate voice students and serve as coordinator of Yale School of Music vocal studies (all degree tracks); maintain a professional profile that reflects the career of a distinguished teacher and performing artist; prepare students for recitals and auditions; advise and mentor students. Participate in faculty committees within the School and University as needed. Yale Opera: Serve as director of the Yale Opera program; select works, artists, and staff for the season in consultation with faculty, staff, and the Dean; oversee all productions.

QUALIFICATIONS: Proven success an advanced / master voice teacher with exceptional skill in developing collegiate singers for professional careers; advanced degree in a field of music or equivalent professional experience as an internationally regarded opera singer; thorough knowledge of operatic repertoire and song literature in all stylistic periods; strong foreign language skills; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

APPOINTMENT: Professor in the Practice or Associate Professor Adjunct of Voice & Director of Yale Opera, beginning July 1, 2020, with an initial appointment of three or five years, renewable with review during the penultimate year. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
