Opera Production Coordinator (Seasonal, mid April – mid August)
Duties:
  • Advance technical and production elements related to the Filene Center opera as assigned by the Director of Production, The Filene Center, and the Assistant Director, Artistic Operations.
  • Attend weekly productions with the Program and Production department at The Filene Center.
  • Liaise between the Opera Administrative Staff, the Director of Production, The Barns, and Filene Center Program and Production staff.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Production, The Barns on technical and production needs for rehearsal rooms and off-site projects.
  • In accordance with daily rehearsal schedule and in conjunction with Stage Management, Head of Music, and Opera Administrative Staff ensure rehearsal spaces are prepared for activity as needed (guest faculty, chorus rehearsals, orchestra rehearsals, etc.).
  • Oversee equipment rental deliveries, allocations, and deployment of music stands, lights, chairs, etc.
  • Regularly report to Opera’s Administrative staff on progress in all areas; attend daily staff meetings.
Requirements:
  • Prior Production or Stage Management experience required.
  • Knowledge of technical theater.
  • Must be self-motivated, detailed oriented, and highly organized.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills, and computer proficiency.
  • Must be available to work 40-50 hours, six days a week including evenings and weekends, from April –August .
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for 50% of the day and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must pass a background check.
Pay rate:  $800/week.
