Technical Support Specialist – Part-Time

Immerse yourself in music and theater while working as a Part-Time Technical Support Specialist at the Michigan Opera Theatre (MOT). Michigan’s premiere opera company has a rich legacy in Detroit, restoring two historic theaters and stimulating the transformation of a once-desolate neighborhood into the city’s now thriving entertainment district. Be part of a team that continues to support the revitalization of Detroit by presenting the world’s best singers and dance companies to Southeast Michigan.

The Technical Support Specialist will assist with the regular duties of our Information Technology Department. This is an excellent opportunity for the young IT professional, someone who is detailed-orientated, well-organized, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Network monitoring

·         Active Directory management

·         Deploy and image new machines

·         Provide support to MOT staff for Microsoft Office Suite, phone systems, and printing and scanning issues

·         Install and configure computer systems within MOT

·         Actively update, maintain and monitor all aspects of computer networks

·         Resolve technical issues related to network interruptions

·         Other duties as assigned by the IT Manager

Qualifications

·         Must have a High school diploma

·         Must have either a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technological field; or significant IT job experience

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·         Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

·         Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

·         Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365

·         Experience with Cisco Meraki (switches and access points) or PaperCut Print Software preferred

·         MCP for Windows, CompTIA A+, and CompTIA Net+ Certifications preferred

·         Experience with Tessitura Software is a plus

Compensation

Hourly rate commensurate with IT experience. There are no benefits accompanying this position. This part time employee can expect to work 20-25 hours weekly.
