Biography
Stephanie Fleischmann is an award-winning playwright and librettist whose texts serve as blueprints for intricate three-dimensional sonic and visual worlds. Her plays and music-theater works have been presented internationally and across the U.S. Opera libretti include THE LONG WALK (music by Jeremy Howard Beck; Opera Saratoga, Utah Opera, Pittsburgh Opera); IN A GROVE (music by Chris Cerrone; Mahogany); 2 operas with David Hanlon: AFTER THE STORM (Houston Grand Opera’s HGOco) and THE PIGEON FANCIER (Santa Fe Opera/OAV); RED FLY/BLUE BOTTLE (music by Christina Campanella; HERE, Noorderzon, EMPAC); and operas in progress with Julia Adolphe, Peter Knell, and Jeremy Howard Beck.
