Anna Karenina
Composer:David Carlson
Librettist:Colin Graham
Synopsis
Two parallel stories that illustrate and illuminate each other and the social milieu of upper class, mid-19th century Russia. The first, the tragic story of Anna Karenina and her fatal affair with the dashing army officer, Count Vronsky, which destroys her marriage and separates her from her son, is contrasted with the eventually successful marriage of the flighty Kitty Scherbatsky to the idealistic Konstantin Levin.
