Synopsis
The text, though abridged, is carefully preserved in its original form in one act with five scenes. The work includes four short Overtures, several dance like movements, and sections of vocal polyphony, and a closing a cappella finale. The score can be performed with a single pianist/synthesizer performer, or with 11 instruments -- strings, winds, and percussion. The work is scored for 11 vocalists; three young female voices, three sopranos, one mezzo-soprano, two baritones, two altos to include numerous children's voices.
