Synopsis
Prince Pedro, who is married to Constanza, meets and falls desperately in love with Constanza's girlhood friend, Ines de Castro. After Constanza's death, Pedro plans to marry Ines, but his father orders him to marry the Infanta of Navarre instead, to prevent further warfare. In defiance of his father's order, Pedro secretly marries Ines, by whom he already has two children. He vows to make Ines his queen one day, but his father secretly orders Ines murdered. Pedro becomes enraged and driven only by revenge. After his father's death, Pedro is crowned king and immediately shocks everyone attending the coronation ceremony by crowning as his queen, the cadaver of Ines de Castro.
