Mahler's Original Version of "Das Lied von der Erde"
8:00PM - 10:00PM

Presented by Gustav Mahler Society of New York

Featuring
Alexandra von Roepke, mezzo-soprano
Peter Furlong, tenor
Christian Kälberer, pianist

November 1, 2018, 8pm. at the National Opera Center, 330 Seventh Avenue, New York City

The artists have recorded the work on the Thorofon label and they have engaged in long and deep study of the score that reveals some interesting aspects of its gestation. This is a truly rare opportunity to hear Mahler's first thoughts about the work, which contains some different titles for the movements as well as slightly different texts, all of which are quite interesting, even provocative.

After the performance, refreshments will be available, and you will have a chance to meet and talk to the performers.

Tickets may be purchased exclusively through Brown Paper Ticketing at https://gmsny.brownpapertickets.com/.

GMSNY members, National Opera Center members and guests: $12.50 (code: Ive7760)
Seating is limited, and seats are non-reserved.
Doors open at 7:30.
NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR>
