DHF World Harp Competition, NYC Regional Round & Concert by Nikolaz Cadoret
11:00AM - 11:00AM

Presented by Dutch Harp Festival

In the Regional Rounds of the DHF World Harp Competition, harpists appear before the Scouting Jury to pitch their own, original program. With just 15 minutes each, the candidates must distinguish themselves through not only their musicality and technical mastery of the instrument but also their stage presence and creativity. Open to all harpists regardless of age, nationality, or musical genre, listeners can expect to hear a surprisingly wide variety of presentations on this multifaceted instrument.

The evening concert following the competition rounds is coproduced by the Dutch Harp Festival in partnership with the Utrecht University. The nautically themed program will feature Celtic harp master Nikolaz Cadoret, from France, performing – among other works – an arrangement of Music by Oceans by Stef Veldhuis. This one-of-a-kind composition translates data collected on ocean currents, temperature, and salinity levels into music.

Entry to both the competition and the evening concert is free. Reservations will be given priority. To reserve a seat in advance, email elizabeth@harpfestival.nl. Competition starts: 11:00 AM, Concert begins: 7:30 PM.
