Companies from across the U.S. present recitals featuring competition winners and the most promising young singers from their training programs.

Founded as the Lake George Opera Festival in 1962, Opera Saratoga is now located in Saratoga Springs, New York, and is home of the second-oldest young artist program in the country, with alumni singing around the world. Led by Laurie Rogers, program director and head of music staff, the program provides professional mentorship and extensive performance opportunities during Opera Saratoga’s annual summer festival. Artists sing select principal roles and supporting roles, cover roles, sing in the ensemble and perform in multiple concerts each summer. In addition, artists participate in coachings and masterclasses throughout the season with music staff and guest artists.

Opera Omaha
Community Event: Faust

Web Address: https://www.operaomaha.org/season-tickets/current-season/2018-2019-season/faust
Start Time: 7:30PM

Opera Omaha presents Faust with music by Charles Gounod and libretto by Jules Barbier and Michel Carré from Carré’s play Faust et Marguerite, loosely based on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s Faust, Part One:

In despair the aging and regretful scholar Faust makes a deal with the devil for an ill-fated chance at youth, vitality and love. Featuring music from the opera that hasn’t been heard in over 150 years. Opera Omaha taps a new edition of Faust that reconstructs Gounod’s earliest versions of the work. Conductor Steven White returns to Opera Omaha and tenor Gerard Schneider makes his company debut in the title role of a fascinating new production by director Lileana Blain-Cruz.

This performance contains adult content and scenes that depict infanticide and hedonistic activity. Parental guidance is advised.
