And There Was Light
7:00PM - 7:00PM

Presented by Suna Chung

The song concert will present two song sets: the New York premiere of The Lavender Fields, a song cycle written by James Moffett for Ariana Chris, which offers a clear-eyed view into the composer's battle with cancer; and Peter Lieberson's Rilke songs, written for his wife, Lorraine Hunt-Lieberson. Songs of J.S. Bach and Gustav Mahler act like commentary between these longer sets - voices that benefit from time's perspective.

Ariana Chris, mezzo-soprano
Magnus Billstrom, baritone
Suna Chung, piano
Tickets: suggested $20, cash only
(all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society)
