World Opera Forum 2024 Opening Session & What's Changed Since 2018

Come together for the opening of the historic second-ever World Opera Forum. We will applaud the global delegates who have traveled from far and wide to participate, acknowledge the many people who have helped make the convening possible, and look ahead to the key themes we’ll explore over the next two days.

The first World Opera Forum took place in Madrid in 2018. Since then, new technologies, the effects of climate change, a global pandemic, war, and migration have reshaped the ways artists and audiences relate to the world around them. Guest speakers will explore how world events have had an impact on our art form and the way we operate.

Opening Session & What's Changed Since 2018 was originally presented at the World Opera Forum in Los Angeles, CA, on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. etc etc.

Featuring:
  • Renata Borowska-Juszczyńska, The Poznań Opera House (Poland)
  • Ignacio García-Belenguer Laita, Teatro Real (Spain)
  • Christopher Koelsch, LA Opera (United States)
