ABOUT ON SITE OPERA
Now in its 12th season, On Site Opera’s mission is to produce site-specific, immersive opera experiences in unconventional locations across New York City (and beyond!). Everyone from artists and audience to critics describes On Site Opera (OSO) as innovative, immersive, bold, engaging, accessible, and fun. Our 2024 season began with a sold-out run of Coffee Cantata, followed by a free concert series at the West Side Community Garden, and will end with the premiere of Laura Kaminsky and David Cote’s new opera, Lucidity. In typical seasons, OSO’s produces three core productions in venues located throughout New York City, and occasionally beyond. We are excited at this opportunity to grow our team!
ABOUT THE POSITION
On Site Opera is seeking a diligent and proactive person to join our team as a Marketing Intern. The selected candidate will report to the General Director / CEO. The primary goal of the Marketing Intern is to support the administrative side of On Site Opera marketing and social media efforts. Specific job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Assist with marketing eblasts and communications
Support video editing for social media platforms and YouTube
Aid in managing website updates and changes
Support photo and video capture for marketing and social media content
Help to organize digital media assets
IDEAL CANDIDATE
We recognize that a wide range of professional and life experiences may be relevant to the position of Marketing Intern, and we welcome perspectives both from those who have worked in or loved opera as well as those for whom opera is a new experience. Ideal candidates will have some combination of:
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
Strong organizational skills
Computer-proficient and able to adapt quickly to new online tools; systems used in this position include Google products and Asana
Agility and eagerness to tackle detail-oriented tasks
COMPENSATION, SCHEDULE, AND LOCATION
This is a part-time internship for 5-10 hours per week from September 3rd through December 13, 2024. The Marketing Intern will receive a $1,600 stipend paid monthly in installments of $400. This is a hybrid remote / in-person position with the On Site Opera administrative offices in Morningside Heights. During both remote work and in-office work, business hours typically fall within a regular work week (Monday - Friday), though the company strives to offer a healthy work-life balance through flexible scheduling.
KEY DATES
In the fall, On Site Opera will be premiering a new work and hosting its annual gala fundraiser. In person availability for the following dates is preferred, though not required.
Annual Gala - October 9, 2024
Lucidity - November 14-16, 2024
Desired Start Date: September 3, 2024

Pay Range: $400 - $400 Monthly
