The Kennedy Center named bassi-baritone Justino Díaz as one of the five recipients of this year’s Kennedy Center Honors. The honorees will be celebrated at a December 5 gala.

Karen Slack

The Sphinx Foundation awarded soprano Karen Slack one of its 2022 Sphinx Medals of Excellence, which recognizes extraordinary musicians of color.

The American Prize, a nonprofit that recognizes excellence in classical music, named Livermore Valley Opera the winner of its 2021 Prize in the Professional Opera Division for the company’s March 2020 double bill of Alexander von Zemlinsky's A Florentine Tragedy and Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi.
