Chants Libres has promoted Marie-Annick Béliveau from assistant artistic director to artistic director. She succeeds company founder Pauline Vaillancourt. Marine Theunis­sen, a faculty member of the Uni­versité du Québec à Montréal, has been named executive director.

Opera Naples has welcomed Laura Burns as its new executive director. Burns previously served as executive director of the United Arts Council of Collier County in Naples.

Seattle Opera has announced Michaella Calzaretta as its new chorus master and head of music staff. The company has also appointed Dennis Robinson Jr. as director of programs and partnerships.

Washington National Opera has appointed Christopher Cano as director of the Cafritz Young Artists Program and Ameri­can Opera Initiative. Cano most recently served as director of artis­tic operations at Arizona Opera.

Houston Grand Opera has hired Jennifer Davenport for the newly created role of chief mar­keting and experience officer.

Scott Finlay, who previously worked in development at Cen­tral City Opera, has returned to the company as vice pres­ident of development.

Sue Fitzsimmons

Sue Fitzsimmons has joined Edmon­ton Opera as executive director. She recently held executive leadership roles at Medicine Hat College and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.

Tim Hausmann

Tim Hausmann, most recently a consultant at TCC Group, has joined Heartbeat Opera as its first-ever execu­tive director. Jacob Ashworth, co-music director of the com­pany, has taken on the role of interim artistic director.

Greg Holland

Greg Holland is the new president and CEO of the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, home to resident opera company Opera Tampa. Holland most recently served as president of Brown-Holland Entertainment and chief operating officer for Lighthouse Immersive.

Catherine Hughes has joined Palm Beach Opera as director of education and community engagement.

Opera Idaho has hired Carly Oppie as development director.

Kerriann Otaño

Kerriann Otaño has joined Opera Delaware as vice president of engagement.

Alexis Peart

Boston Opera Collaborative has named Alexis Peart as executive director. Peart previously worked in community engagement at Washington National Opera and in marketing and development at Guerilla Opera.

Whitney Reader

Wichita Grand Opera has appointed Whitney Reader as general and music director. Reader has conducted throughout Europe over the past 15 years.

Joel Thompson

Houston Grand Opera has announced that Joel Thompson, composer of the company’s 2021 world premiere Snowy Day, will be its first full-time composer-in-residence, for a period of five years.

Bradley Vernatter

Bradley Vernatter has been appointed general director and CEO of Boston Lyric Opera after two seasons serving as acting general and artistic director. Before joining BLO, Vernatter served as director of operations for Opera Omaha. He is an alumnus of OPERA America’s 2014 Leadership Intensive.

Tulsa Opera has hired Amanda Viles as chief development officer.

Inland Northwest Opera has appointed Summer Ward as executive director. A soprano by training, Ward has worked extensively in music therapy.
