President John F. Kennedy popularized the aphorism “a rising tide lifts all boats,” a bit of macroeconomic wisdom that suggests that any economic growth benefits all citizens. It’s a gentle reminder that different sectors can stand to gain more from supporting one another than by treating each other as competitors.
